Lose weight just by walking!
Weight loss without exercise
Many of us find ourselves wanting to lose weight without ever going back to the gym or doing anything strenuous.
This is often because we think that once our body gets rid of some extra fat, we can use it as fuel for any physical activity we want - and so we just focus on losing the excess. And there is truth to this, but only if you want to lose a bit more weight quickly. If you are looking to reduce your body mass index (BMI) and get into better shape more quickly, you need to go back to the basics of healthy eating. Not only do you need to eat healthy foods that will not leave you feeling hungry all afternoon, but you also need to focus on making sure that you are eating more of those nutrient-dense foods that will give you enough energy to carry out tasks like running, gardening and even cleaning the house. You don't have time to waste on indulging in sugary drinks. Try to make sure that you keep yourself full throughout your day with both protein powders and a wide variety of vegetables and fruits. Don't forget about adding whole grains into every dish - they may be low in carb content but give much more filling fibre which means your stomach will feel fuller for longer. Lastly, try to drink lots of water - even if you don't like drinking as much liquid as others do, take regular breaks between beverages. This way you're not dehydrated during the day but you'll still be able to maintain a good fluid balance.
The reason why we are saying this is this is because although there are certain foods which are high in carbohydrates - eggs, pasta, pastries and sugary processed foods - if you do these things only for short periods of time, it won't work - your brain works slower. Therefore you may find that you are getting less food than what you need at one point, therefore your hunger is not satisfied at noon and you begin overeating after lunch time. Instead, you should eat more foods that will provide you with carbohydrates and other nutrients. Some options are brown rice, buckwheat bread, toast, nuts, seeds and peanut butter. These foods are rich in nutrients which means that you get more energy. So, if you have a very busy schedule in the morning - go for a walk or run before your lunch, as well as a few hours after meals - and then come right back to your desk to write a new article or scroll through Instagram. Your mind and body will thank you. The important thing here is to find things you like doing and enjoy doing them - instead of trying to force yourself to do stuff at home.
Some examples of activities include:
Getting up early to go to the gym - but just doing cardio exercises or any form of exercise you normally wouldn't recommend doing - but then leaving straight back down when you are done working out. Also, while having someone or something else do the same, so your thoughts aren't interrupted. Just doing whatever you like to do every single day.
Going outside to walk - it's easy to think that this is an essential part of life, but actually it is quite easy to go for a walk instead of going to the office. It also counts towards your daily goal of 1.5k. Not only does walking help to improve your body, but it also helps you to find your own motivation and will also have many social benefits too.
Going to the library - reading is great for a mental reset. Especially if you are struggling with depression, then reading is one of the best ways to bring yourself joy. Plus it gives you the chance to connect with other people, talk about things you are struggling with or even see how positive their lives are.
If you don't want to go out for a walk, instead try to find the nearest bus stop and use that as the main part of your commute. Go to school by train by bus - you can always call for the teacher by phone or ask around. Get in contact with friends and family by messaging each other and asking what they are doing. If you think that you are busy, get busy and think twice about putting off anything you have planned to do. For example, you could think about starting a podcast which you could record with the voice of yourself. Do something different - try cooking a meal from scratch. There are definitely many benefits to this, such as:

You're not paying for store ingredients or buying canned food, therefore saving on money.
Slightly improves your relationship with your loved ones.
It makes you feel happy and healthier.
It's satisfying your creative side, and helps develop a lot of new skills too.
And lastly, exercise gives your brain a little boost which means that you’ll have more memory and concentration. I encourage all women to work out regularly, as long as you are in shape. This doesn't mean that you have to exercise 3 times a week, or spend lots of time in a gym, but just get your heart pumping and move! No excuses, it is absolutely crucial that you are at least doing 30 minutes of exercise every day. A minimum of 60 minutes every single day will help to build muscle, relax body, improve metabolism and most importantly will boost your mood! However, there is some good advice in regards to your exercise routine. First, try to figure out what you really enjoy doing - whether it is weightlifting or going for a jog around the city. Then do the same thing daily. Always aim to do something that you are enjoying and are able to complete without being tired. Remember, you can have a lazy trainer but you are not able to perform your training with dedication. Work to strengthen your muscles so that you are able to perform your body's tasks with ease. After this, you can move onto more complex movements, like jumping jacks and jumping rope. As with any type of exercise - you have to do something that your body will love. Make sure to train at least three times a week if possible because it will show you how effective your workouts are. Finally, make sure that after you have completed your workout, do some stretches too! I would say a warmup is always important as well - especially if you are doing any kind of exercise; however, a cool down is not to overdo it - just like with yoga or Pilates. Take some deep breaths before stretching each part of your body. Keep moving and don't stop until you are in a comfortable position. This will help to ensure that you are not fatigued and moving properly helps improve your general health.
As you can tell by now, you will probably have noticed a change in your body. Even though your abs and legs are improving, your arms are not. But, this can really be overlooked - especially if you are doing strength training as a result of resistance training - but it all comes down to your overall health. Once you're getting stronger and more toned, it gives you confidence for any task you want to accomplish.
So, without exercising - you are likely to gain weight - but you don't have to! By following my advice and learning how to cook dinner as a result of watching YouTube videos, and eating breakfast, you needn't worry about whether or not you are getting adequate amounts of fibre - just make sure you are getting enough fresh fruit. When you're really struggling with your weight loss journey, it might sometimes feel pointless (or perhaps even boring) to try to lose a few pounds, so it's good to remind yourself that staying active is better for your self-esteem, health and happiness. With a little effort and determination, anyone can achieve success!
